CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a very well-established and highly respected CySEC Licensed Investment Firm with offices in the heart of Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Legal Counsel to join their expanding team of professionals.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Preparation, review and negotiation of contracts/agreements and other legal documents with technology, marketing, financial services and other providers.
- Provision of internal legal advice and opinions.
- Cooperation with and supervision of external legal advisors on legal matters relating to, but not limited to, financial services, intellectual property, electronic communication, online marketing etc.
- Conduct of legal research in the fields of financial services, intellectual property and online business conduct.
- Provision of assistance to the company's secretary on corporate legal matters.
- Close cooperation with the Company’s various departments for various matters as the legal reference.
- Attending court and other tribunals together with the external legal advisors.
- Conduct of administrative legal work, including making arrangements for certifying true copies, apostille etc.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Law or a relevant field.
- Basic or Advanced Certification of the Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commission will be considered an advantage.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably at an international law firm or an investment bank or another financial institution.
- Previous experience in the FX/CFDs industry will be considered an advantage.
- Very good knowledge of the regulatory regime for financial markets and investment firms, primarily MiFID and ISDA.
- Working experience in and orientation towards English Law, mainly with regards to agreements/contracts.
- Knowledge of IT / IP / Data protection law and regulations will be considered an advantage.
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking in English.
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Commercial orientation.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Self- motivated, ‘gets things done’, ambitious.
- Dynamic, flexible with strong attention to detail.
- Team player.
