Our client our client a newly established investment firm is seeking for someone to take the role of Head of Compliance in their Nicosia, Cyprus office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the Company’s compliance with the Laws and Regulations (both EU and local) pertaining to the operation of Cypriot Investment Firms.
The main responsibilities entailed in this role include:
· Assisting to develop and oversee internal compliance control procedures in line with regulatory requirements and company’s standards
· Analyzing changes in the Laws and regulations, keeping the Company’s Internal Operations Manual up to date and monitoring implementation
· Overviewing and monitoring the Anti-Money Laundering processes and procedures
· Examining client complaints and suggesting remedial action where necessary
· Assisting the Internal Audit Team in the performance of their duties and suggesting remedial action where necessary
· Liaising with local regulatory authorities in relation to matters concerning the daily operations, enquiries and investigations
· Establishing, implementing and maintaining adequate risk management policies and procedures
· Identification of the risks relating to the firm's activities, processes and systems,
· Monitoring and managing the risks
The successful candidate should meet the following profile requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related subject
· 3-5 years of experience in the field of Compliance, AML, preferably with experience working for an Investment firm
· Dynamic and disciplined personality with a strong drive for results
· Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
· Computer literate (MS Office)
· Excellent written and verbal knowledge of the English language
