Duties & Requirements:
You will be expected to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines; therefore it is important to be self-motivated and ambitious. General requirements and expectations:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, providing options, recommendations, and additional actions relating to resolving issues, mitigating risks and resolving escalated items
- Proven Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), network troubleshooting skills
- Managed large cloud production deployments, using Chef and/or Puppet is an advantage
- Extensive experience supporting performance oriented systems
- Hands on experience with Dell servers; Dell storage solutions is an advantage
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, work well under pressure and be obsessive about security, quality and performance
- Strong private cloud (VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, vCloud) and cloud-based service experience; Amazon AWS (EC2/EBS/S3/VPC/RDS/IAM/Route 53)
- Understanding of modern cloud (compute, storage, networking) with an emphasis on OpenStack
- Experience with configuration (replication, backup) and administration of MySQL
- Hands on experience with monitoring systems (Nagios,Zabbix, PRTG)
- Hands on experience with enterprise level switches, firewalls and routers is considered an advantage
- Strong understanding of networking principles
Personal Skills:
- Must be a self-starter and have strong attention to detail
- Passion for automation
- Ability to multitask and work well in a team
- Must have solid oral and written communication skills
