Our Client, a German company established 60 years ago, is setting up its Nicosia-based subsidiary for the development of intelligence software, and marketing and sales at a later stage. The initial staffing will consist of 8 to 10 Junior and 3 Senior Java Developers.
On behalf of our Client, we are in search of the appropriate candidate for the following position:
Director / Senior Java Consultant
Your Tasks
• As the Country manager / Director of the Cyprus subsidiary you will be responsible for the smooth operation of the company as per the standards of the parent company in Germany. This includes general office management tasks as well as personnel management, guiding and controlling Junior and Senior Java Developers and communicating with the German headquarters.
• You will not be required to work as a Senior Java Developer yourself but you must be able to guide and to control the work and quality of work of developers in the team and to achieve provided standards as well as to keep given time-lines and dead-lines.
• You must be able to handle software developers successfully and find the right personal approach to the team members. Our Client works with complex systematic solutions with long periods of vocational adjustment and cannot afford frequent fluctuation of employees. Company culture, staff satisfaction and personnel development are playing an important role for our Client.
• You will supervise and ensure the implementation of systems based on distributed and scalable Java architectures.
• You will supervise and ensure definitions and analysis requirements and deduce from them technical specifications.
• You will supervise and ensure analysis, draft and design of complex modules and components.
• You are responsible for the realisation by your team of reusable software components in an agile development process (Scrum).
• You will supervise test cases and documentation of results your results.

Your profile
• Successfully finalised academic studies in the areas of computer sciences, communication engineering o.s.; additional studies of business administration will be a plus;
• Very good experiences in the areas of Java and test-driven development, parallel processing and concurrency;
• Knowledge desirable in:
o Eclipse RCP, OSGI, Spring
o JUnit
o Maven
o CleanCode
o Data bases, preferably Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL)
o Design Patterns, UML
o agile methods (for example Scrum)
• Verifiable experience in leading and management positions;
• Fluent in spoken and written English;
Other particulars
• This position may not require full-time presence at the office, but presence as much as necessary to achieve the goals of the company. Thus, the position may be a full-time or a part-time position, decision subject
• The successful candidate might be offered complementary minority shares in the company, as per performance delivered.
