Job Description

For an international group of companies in Nicosia we are looking for a Chief Accountant. The financial controller has to ensure that the finance team provides timely and accurate financial information in accordance with company policy and procedures. The finance department manages the accounting and financial reporting, payments, invoicing, tax, payroll, project reporting, banking, funding and company secretarial services, with the main focus being management reports. In order to provide accurate and timely data the Financial Controller has to ensure that the team supports all the different departments in the organization. In this role you will be reporting to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

Managing a team of about 8 people

Oversee, review, and adhere to the budgets for each business department

Assist in company-wide budgetary planning

Ensure that all of the company's financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation

Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed

Monitor and report on cash flow and set up action points

Supervise financial assistants and other employees in the facilitation of day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing and payroll

Prepare director reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants

Update and implement financial policies and procedures through software development

Maintain a policy manual for the finance department

Establish and implement a training program for new and existing finance employees

Requirements:

Chartered, ACA, ACCA or similar qualification (must)

At least 5 years' experience in a similar role (must)

At least 3 years' experience in managing a team (must)

Experience in producing management reports (must)

Excellent English skills

Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers

Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal

Able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment

Take decisive action on opportunities to achieve specific outcomes.

Experience in construction is an advantage

The working hours are 9:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, with an hour lunch break.

Salary of € 42,000 - 47,000 Euros gross based on skills and experience
